There are times when you might want to browse LinkedIn anonymously - for example if you're secretly scoping out a job.
However, if your aim is to make sales, find recruits, or market your company, then having your profile set as visible can be a great way to generate leads. This way whenever you visit someone's profile they'll be notified that you did so, and will often return view your profile. Profile Hopper is a great way to achieve this effect at scale, so if you're using Profile Hopper you definitely want to make sure your LinkedIn profile is visible.
Either way, here's how you can change your visibility settings on LinkedIn:
Step 1 - Enter "Privacy & Settings"
You'll find this by hovering over your profile picture in the top right to view Account & Settings.
Step 2 - Click the "Privacy" tab
Step 3 - Scroll down and select "Profile viewing options"
From here you'll be able to select whether you want to be completely visible (top option), partly hidden (middle option), or completely anonymous (bottom option) when viewing other people's LinkedIn profiles.
Whichever option you choose, your settings will be saved as soon as it's selected, so don't worry about looking for a save button.
Again, if using Profile Hopper this is where you should make sure your profile is completely visible.
